The Last King Of Scotland

Lastking

We’re planning a LOVE outing to see Rocky Balboa next week, so we thought we’d post about a slightly more cerebral film first.
The Last King Of Scotland.  What a superb film - brilliantly acted, tense as anything, gruesome in parts and really unsettling - it took me a few hours to compose myself afterwards. I can’t believe that the IMdB voters are only giving it 8.0/10 right now.
Maybe we should all start a little movie buffs set of posts?  Our blogging colleagues over the Atlantic can even give us advance recommendations on films that have broken over there before they come over here.  Anyone else seen anything good recently?

    Good idea.

I just watched the odd but excellent HK film Chungking Express. Hoping to see Last King of Scotland next week.

Oh, this looks good. I’ve always like Forrest Whitaker.

Children of Men and Pan’s Labrynth are on my list.

Saw Rocky Balboa when it opened last month… I want to see what you guys think first.

Bobby released in the U.S. Supposed to be real good with all-star cast

I read an interview with the director Kevin McDonald a few weeks ago and decided then that I needed to see it. (Un)fortunately a new addition to the family means I’ll have to wait until DVD, unless anyone knows a mate who knows a mate…
