Umbro Film February 5th, 2008

We’ve shot a short film for Umbro. Shot in Manchester, London, Lyon and Barcelona and featuring music from The Pistola Kicks (www.myspace.com/pistolakicks) and Steve our pre-christmas work placement. It’s loose, quirky and currently enjoying a 5 star rating on YouTube. It’s amazing what you can do with a Canon XH A1 camera, Adobe After Effects and a huge dollop of dedication.

mydeco February 4th, 2008

Mydeco.com is a new beta by Brent Hoberman, co-founder of lastminute.com. At first glance it’s a shopping search engine for home furnishings, but the fun starts when you start to visualise your room in 2d or 3d using a Flash-based application. Designer furniture, wall colour, floor covering - you can design the whole lot and then view your creation from lots of different angles. For my first attempt, I tried to cram as much expensive designer furniture into a box room as possible. Next time I’ll include a door.
Smart site though.

White Van Man February 4th, 2008

Here’s a tip to drivers of tall vans entering car parks. When the maximum height indicator at the entrance tells you your van is too tall, heed the warning - especially before you drive up the long spiralling entrance….

Silver Cross in South Africa February 1st, 2008

Ironically we recently chose to shoot the 08/09 edition of ‘The Little Book of Silver Cross’ in South Africa, for its guaranteed good weather.

When the weather cleared up though, the shoot became a joy. We basically just documented a real family having a Great British day out. But in Cape Town.

What was also ironic was that we ended up shooting at a beach called llandudno, which was what the beach was called that we shot at last year in Wales, with the lovely Antony Crook.

We can’t show you the shots just yet, as we’ve only shown the client a few, but we’d just like to give a big thanks to the team. Jane for her hard work behind the lens (hope the sunburn’s cleared up). John for his great assistance, exquisite animal noises and all-round entertainment. Myles for his patience, great breakfasts, and for constantly monitoring my incredibly pale skin. Sue (and her daughter Ella) and everyone else at Matrix Productions. And finally, our fantastic family - Clyde, Sally, Jake and Lily who are now the proud owners of both a Silver Cross 3D Pram System and an Explorer Sport car seat.

Actually, here’s one shot for you. Jake has been closely studying the work of Heston Blumenthal, and tells us that sporting orange goggles whilst eating a cheese sandwich by the seaside makes it taste loads better.

We’ll upload more pics when we can - and keep your eyes peeled for the book, it’ll be hitting the shops sometime in April.
