The 3 Peaks
March 12th, 2008

An intrepid team of LOVE folk are attempting the 3 Peaks Challenge in June. An audacious - some would say foolhardy - attempt to climb the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales, all within 24 hours. Now, you wouldn’t get many of us up one mountain, let alone three, unless it was for a very good cause so we’re going to be climbing in support of Christian Aid. Dig deep and sponsor us here: http://www.justgiving.com/love3peaks

the team

We began our training in earnest last weekend, with a planned ascent of Helvellyn…

nasty weather

…which sadly had to be curtailed due to truly horrendous weather.

To add to our woes a navigational blunder on the descent saw us take a wrong turn and find ourselves stranded in the Travellers Rest, Grasmere. A predicament three of LOVE’s greatest minds weren’t able to extricate us from for a good few hours.

When we finally dried out we realized that to attempt the 3 Peaks Challenge we might need some better kit than the paraphernalia we had rummagged from previous photoshoots. So if any friendly outdoor clothing brands happen to be reading this and could help us stay alive we would welcome any help. We will repay the favour by doing something special for you and creating as much publicity as we can muster.

Good work guys, I have been considering organising a 3 peaks challenge at work for months- still no further forward. Is the trip exclusive to Love? I did it a few years ago and really enjoyed it!

What you don’t realise is, in the last photo, it’s actually the menu for Tariq’s Tandoori that they’re studying with such deliberation.

Hi Joe. Sorry, this one’s just for LOVE people. There are lots of organised events though - such as this one from Christian Aid.
f.m. The heights are: Ben Nevis 4406ft, Scafell pike 3209ft, Snowdon 3560ft. Not that I’m a trainspotter or anything….
