As mentioned earlier on the blog Class of ’09 begins from today.

Just so there’s no confusion, here’s an outline of what Class is about:
It’s a three month placement.
It is for graduates, not students.
It is not specific to design or advertising or digital or illustration or copywriting or photography.
It’s just specific to class. As in class act. What the dictionary describes as ‘Admirable skill or excellence in performance.’
It is paid.
It will give you some healthy experience of the industry.
It will give you the chance to work on live briefs.
It does not guarantee you a job.
It can be pronounced CL-ASS or CL-ARSE. We will not discriminate.

The first question you probably need to ask yourself is ‘Do I want to want to work at LOVE for three months?’ We’re big enough to understand we might not be everyone’s cup of tea, so if you the decide the answer’s ‘No’ then we wish you all the best. If you decide the answer is ‘Yes’, send your CV and a pdf with FIVE of your best bits of work to class (at) lovecreative (dot) com. If you’re having trouble deciding, you can see some of our work by clicking the button marked ‘WORK’ in the top-right of the page.
Please keep pdfs to five pages, otherwise I’ll end up having to choose what I think are your best five, and design isn’t a strong point for me. As a marker of how poor my taste in design is, I’ve seen designers weep after I’ve said I like their work. And they were not tears of joy.
We know a lot of the grads are busy finishing off/attending degree shows, so we’ll be waiting until July before we start looking at all the work.
Have a good weekend.
Well worth doing, even just to get along, meet some peeps and gorge on free crisps and beer.
Thanks James – hope all’s well with you. Mailer looked good.
Can you still apply for this even if you gradded 2 yrs ago and are finding it hard to get your footing in the industry????
Of course you can James. If I’m honest, anyone can apply. The only condition is that you can do a three month placement, which kind of rules out anyone in full time education.

I’ve got glitter glue, a ruler, and a pencil case which looks like a packet of fruit pastilles. That’s all you need right?
