As part of the University of Salford’s Art & Design degree show at MediaCityUK, we launched Artr.

Artr is the abstract-art-loving-cousin of Doodlr, which you may remember as our first Instant Interaction Experiment back in March.

Both are built using Mo – our instant interactive mobile platform – that allows users to create direct from their smartphones.

With Artr, a user’s smartphone becomes the way to add their mark to a generative masterpiece.

On their smartphone, they ‘make their mark’…

…which is then added to a large screen, (or masterpiece as we like to call it …

…each mark mingles and moves with others, forming abstract and surprising compositions. These compositions slowly change over time, so Artr is constantly changing and never the same twice.

Each new interaction is captured and posted to our Flickr gallery.
