This week our PR intern Emily shares the publications and programmes feeding her inspiration and creativity since graduating from university.
Lecture In Progress
From the minds behind It's Nice That, Lecture in Progress provides helpful "advice, insight and inspiration for the next generation of creatives".
As a fresh class of 2018 graduates myself, knowing what my next steps could be is a daunting, but Lecture In Progress has helped me so much.
The site features interviews with agencies and creatives discussing their journeys and how the industry really works. Job roles are also explained with anything from animator to strategist all covered.
Incidentally, when the Deputy Editor Indi Davies visited my university to run a session about creative futures, I was introduced to LOVE. Fast forward a few months, and here I am doing my work placement here.
Proving that print isn't dead, Posterzine, published by People of Print (In Perpetuum) does exactly what it says on the tin.
A zine that folds out into a poster, it's the only poster in the world that is registered with the British Library as a magazine thanks to some genius folding.
A new issue is available every month, fully devoted to a different creative showcasing their work through interviews and images.
So far, the likes of Erik Spiekermann, Anthony Burrill and Hey Studio have all been in the spotlight.
I love the idea of being able to keep each issue to frame and display as a collection of cool prints.
Back issues of all 35 printed so far are available on their Posterzine site to snap up.
A subscription service with a difference, Stack delivers a new independent magazine every month straight to your door.
If you're a magazine hoarder like me, this service is great for discovering fresh independent publishing you wouldn't normally pick up in store.
Each month is a complete surprise as you have no idea what magazine is going to arrive through your front door.
As well as the surprise delivery service, there are also lots of great printed publications to choose from on their online shop.
Stack's Instagram feed has already provided me with lots of interesting new magazines alone so a subscription is a top priority on my Christmas wish list this year.
