Welcome to your Friday dose of WEEK - a roundup of what's dropped in the last seven days, brought to you by the Culture & Strategy team at LOVE.
Virgil Abloh & Louis Vuitton Art
Virgil Abloh has been creating glorious havoc around the world as his debut Louis Vuitton collection sets to launch. Inspired by the Wizard of Oz and the rainbow, Abloh has installed a 12 storey high optical illusion in its windows, showing a technicolour model standing inside a box.
Over in Japan, things get even more surreal: a crouching version of the artwork appears to burst through the floor of Tokyo's Harajuku Station.
Gucci Year of the Pig
Following Gucci’s wildly successful ‘Year of the Dog’ Chinese New Year Collection, the fashion house has released a selection of leather goods for ‘Year of the Pig’. Whilst the pig is a trickier sell for luxury brands, Gucci have managed to pull it off with a light hearted collection, inspired by Disney’s classic cartoon, The Three Little Pigs.
Pura Still is a new alcoholic still water
People love buying water and now they want their alcohol to taste like water too. Pura Still is a clear malt drink that contains about as much alcohol as a light beer (4.5%), but tastes like flavoured water.
CES 2019: Tech start-up unveils breathalyser gadget that can improve your diet
As CES (the Las Vegas tech show) kicked off this week a few things caught our eye.
Some of the most interesting innovations were in diet and health, Lumen have created a breathalyser which tasks users with breathing into it several times each day, allowing it to measure their metabolism via carbon dioxide readings and suggest workouts and meals to help them burn fat.
The health conscious devices have got plenty of attention as we all look for easier ways to stay healthy.
