WEEK: 21.02.19

Welcome to your Friday dose of WEEK - a roundup of what's dropped in the last seven days, brought to you by the Culture & Strategy team at LOVE.

Ridley Scott ad for Hennessy

Premium, French cognac brand Hennessy have released a cinematic campaign set in seven different sci-fi worlds.

Directed by Ridley Scott in his usual dystopian, surrealist style, the film explores seven different fantasy locations, used as a metaphor for their different flavour profiles.

The film is no doubt a visual masterpiece, but will the high production costs be enough to recruit new drinkers to the category?

Supreme S/S 19 Accessories

The Supreme Spring Summer 2019 accessory collection is as brilliant and random as ever. From Super Soakers to a drum kit, the drop will no doubt have hypebeasts queuing round the block.

LA’s first Frieze Art Fair

The Frieze art fair headed to Paramount Studios in Los Angeles last week for the first time, tapping into the entertainment capital of the world.

It’s not just artist showcasing their art, this year Rimowa made a debut appearance with a gigantic multi-storey suitcase, printed in a sugary, sunset ombré.

The suitcase is to launch Rimowa’s collab with artist Alex Israel and the suitcases were available for a lucky few influencers.

Gucci also hosted a pop-up cinema and Dover Street Market outfitted the arty crowds with a pop-up store.

Paul Smith Exhibition - Shenzhen

Paul Smith’s touring exhibition, aptly named ‘My Name is Paul Smith’ has arrived in Shenzhen.

The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the designer's career.

As you might expect, it's packed full of Instagram moments and clever tech. At one point, visitors walk into ‘Paul Smiths head’ thanks to an immersive room of HD screens.

Following in the steps of Gucci, branded exhibitions are becoming increasingly popular in China, servicing the growing number of culture-hungry, luxury consumers.
