WE SAW OUR OWN FOOTPRINT. HERE'S WHAT WE'RE DOING ABOUT IT.

October 15, 2026

At LOVE., we're paid to spot the things other people miss. So when it came to our own environmental impact, we turned that same scrutiny inwards.

This year we calculated our full carbon footprint for the first time, in line with the GHG Protocol, and we're putting the numbers out there: good, bad, and still-a-work-in-progress.

THE HEADLINE NUMBER: 499.19 tCO2e.

That's our total footprint for 2025, working out to 7.92 tonnes per person across our 63-strong team.

Not an outlier for a creative agency our size, but not a number we're content to sit on either.

HERE'S WHERE IT'S COMING FROM

The plot twist (if you can call it that): almost none of it is our office. Scope 1 and 2, the energy running our building, accounts for just 7.5% of our footprint.

We flipped the Manchester office to a 100% renewable electricity tariff back in March 2025, and it shows, our market-based electricity emissions dropped to a mere 2.07 tCO2e.

The real story is Scope 3, everything in our wider value chain, which makes up 92% of our footprint. Two things are doing most of the damage:

  • Purchased Goods & Services (50%) — the production partners, suppliers and services that bring our ideas to life. Advertising and market research services alone account for 29% of our entire footprint.
  • Business Travel (28%) — and specifically, flying. Air travel is 81% of our travel emissions, with business class seats doing outsized damage compared to economy.

Employee commuting adds another 9.2%, though we'll note our team mostly gets to work by rail (77.5%), which is the right instinct.

SO WHAT ARE WE ACTUALLY DOING ABOUT IT?

We've set four targets we're holding ourselves to, SMART ones, not vague ambitions:

  1. Cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% by 2030 (from this year's baseline), by keeping our renewable tariff locked in and tackling gas use in our building.
  2. Build a Sustainable Travel Policy by the end of 2027 that makes us actually interrogate whether a flight is necessary, and nudges us toward trains and virtual meetings where it isn't.
  3. Launch a Sustainable Procurement Policy by the end of 2027, with annual check-ins on supplier emissions, since this is where half our footprint lives.
  4. Implement a proper Carbon Data Policy by the end of 2026, so next year's numbers are sharper than this year's.

WHY WE'RE TELLING YOU THIS.

We've been a Certified B Corp since 2022, and this Climate Action Plan is the next chapter of that commitment, not a box-ticking exercise.

Sustainability isn't a department at LOVE., it's part of how we think about the brands we build and the business we run.

We'll report back on progress, properly, with the same honesty we've brought to this first full year of measurement.
